Carnival Arts Group has a track record of completing successful residencies in both mainstream and specialist schools.
Committed to creating an environment where children can express ideas and experiment with confidence regardless of age and ability, Carnival Arts Group projects are also qualified to offer bronze and silver Arts Award credits for their projects (www.artsaward.org.uk).
Creating workshops that are tailored to meet a vast range of academic requirements in fun, creative ways is the aim of Carnival Arts Group. In that sense they can work with schools to design art projects that cross-over with other curriculum subjects such as history, English, geography, music, biology, environmental science or even maths.
In one school we ran a week of printing projects where each class experimented with printing techniques. Their chosen technique was then used to explore another subject, with one class illustrating a literacy project, another designing posters advertising local history and a third creating William Morris inspired wall-paper as part of an art history and design project.
In other schools we have created larger than life Alice in Wonderland characters, have run carnival projects creating costumes and parade sculptures and created a rain-forest installation using willow withy sculptures. On other occasions we have made puppets, masks, banners and even Christmas decorations.
We can also run workshops for staff prior to schools projects to help share skills, prepare them for subsequent workshops or bring staff together.
The Carnival Arts Group offers and wide range of workshops and activities and are flexible in their approach and always aim to create enjoyable, memorable experiences.
